John Curran, CFA, is the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations Officer and a Managing Director of Proprium Capital Partners, L.P. John also serves as the Chief Risk Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

Prior to launching Proprium in 2013, John was a Vice President of Morgan Stanley based in London and New York, and Chief Financial Officer of Special Situations Fund II and Special Situations Fund III, the $6 billion global real estate securities hedge fund.

John joined Morgan Stanley in 2003, initially working in the firm’s private wealth management division before moving to the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing Platform in 2006. Whilst at Morgan Stanley Real Estate John was a senior executive, responsible for the financial management of funds which served several hundred investors.

John’s responsibilities for Proprium include leading a team of executives focused on acquisition financing, cash flow management, interest rates and currency hedging, capital raising, financial reporting, tax structuring, HR and IT across the global platform.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, John was an analyst at Barclays Global Investors in London. John received a BSc in Management from the London School of Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.
